The Marlowe is not a pattern we produce in batches. It is a single rug, selected and finished on its own, which means the piece you see is the piece you receive, right down to the small irregularities that come from a base cotton weave and a jute backing built to hold a wool pile in place without any two knots landing quite the same way twice. The plant-based dyes used across the surface carry a slightly aged, sun-touched quality, less a decorative choice than a natural consequence of how those colourants behave once they settle into wool. Because we only carry one of each Marlowe, we describe it plainly rather than dressing it up: it is a well-made rug with real presence, not a reproduction of a vintage look but a rug finished in a way that already carries some of that character. Once this particular piece is gone, we will not be listing it again under this name.
