Wovenhall started after one too many disappointing rug deliveries: pieces labeled as wool that turned out to be mostly synthetic, backings that curled within months, colors that faded unevenly along one edge. The frustration wasn't with rugs themselves, it was with how little the label actually told you about what you were buying.
We now buy directly from a small number of weaving cooperatives whose wool grade, foundation weave and dye process we can trace and describe plainly. Every rug is checked by hand for tension, pile height and dye evenness before it's wrapped for shipping, and pieces that don't meet that standard are set aside rather than sold.
Pricing is set without a retail middleman layered on top, orders are dispatched with tracking, and returns within 30 days of delivery are handled directly by us rather than passed off to a third party. It's a smaller operation than most rug retailers, which is largely the point.
Material Honesty
We state the wool grade, foundation weave and backing material on every listing without exception. If a rug is a blend, the listing says so plainly.
Direct Sourcing
We work with weaving cooperatives directly rather than through import intermediaries. That relationship is also how we can trace a batch back to its source.
