The Kirman Reserve begins with combed New Zealand wool, sorted by hand before it ever reaches a loom. Each strand is dyed in small batches using plant-based pigments, which means two rugs from the same run will never sit at quite the same shade, a variance we consider a feature rather than a flaw. The pile is worked, knot by knot, onto a cotton foundation weave, a slower process than machine looming but one that gives the finished rug a density and drape that synthetic equivalents rarely manage. Underneath, a natural jute backing keeps the rug settled on the floor without the rubber or latex layers found in cheaper imports. The result is a rug built for a hallway, a living room or a study that gets used daily, one that ages by developing a slight sheen where feet pass most often rather than by fraying at the edges. We make no claim that it changes anything beyond the room it sits in, only that it is built to be walked on for a long time.
